Thank You Johnny-san!

Several days ago there were some news telling that Johnny-san, the founder of Johnny’s Associate as well as the producer of many J-pop talents, had passed away. Well, at first, I was just considering it as an ordinary news. All people someday will leave this world anyway. The death of Johnny-san didn’t really have any specific impact in my life.

As days go by, I read some of the artists from Johnny’s Entertainment writing their condolences regarding this news. Well, it’s also not something extraordinary since they grow there and have a success life in the entertainment industry, thanks to the company.

Unexpectedly, the condolence messages come from the outside of the company too, especially those trainee (or we call it Juniors) who quit the company due to no chance of debuting, or even the debuted artist who got into scandal and forced to leave the company. Well, for those who got into the scandal, they had no choice since it was their wrong-doing and they had to be responsible for it. But imagine, those who practice hard everyday for years, for dozen years, or even decades, they had the talent, they were even quite famous as a Junior, but they still couldn’t make it. It was even more heartbreaking when the young infamous newbie Juniors, which people didn’t know who and why, suddenly make a debut in the same time with the resignation of the other talented Juniors.

Never heard the exact explanation, but I always assume, the talented Juniors were tiredly waiting for their debut, and they resigned because it ended up the newbie ones were the chosen one. And I somehow believe, more or less, it’s a true story. Because life sometimes seems not fair, doesn’t it?

Don’t know what were the reasons behind those Johnny-san and the management’s decision, however, they had their own wisdom, I guess. One thing that I’m quite sure is that Johnny-san cared about each of the Juniors, each of their talents. Even after those heartbreaking incidents, the ex-Johnny’s still can send those heartwarming messages, even telling that they won’t be there if it’s not because of Johnny-san. I wonder how Johnny-san touched each of the Juniors they raised.

This story of Johnny-san, somehow makes me think a little bit. When we put our hearts into our works, maybe we can deliver loves into others. They might not feel it right now, they might hate it right now, but one day, they might thank us because of our sincerity.

Lastly, I just want to thank you for those good moments, those fandom experience I got in the high school and university, in my teenage days. Thank you for raising KinKi Kids and Kis-My-Ft2, my favorite J-pop artists ever. Thank you for raising Question?, my favorite not-yet-debut-then-disbanded Juniors which I always regret it. Thank you, Johnny-san!

[Dorama Review] Juuyou Sankounin Tantei / 重要参考人探偵

Okay, my first dorama review in 2019 is Juuyou Sankounin Tantei. As usual, mystery/detective dorama as it is one of my favourite genre of dorama.

Maneki Kei (played by Tamamori Yuta) is a model. He has a strange ability, which is to be the first one to find a corpse. It is happened since when he was 7 years old, the first time he found a corpse in a forest.

20 years has passed since then. Now, together with Suou Itsuki (played by Koyama Keiichiro) and Shimon Toma (played by Furukawa Yuki), Kei works as a model.

However, their works are always disturbed because they found a corpse. And as always, Kei is the one who found the corpse first, and always suspected as the culprit.

Forced by being suspected, Kei ended up analyzed the situation and solve every murder case he met.

To conclude, this is my first time I watched a dorama with a genre that I like most and the main star that I love too, but so disappointed. The overall story line is good, but the way they make it, it is so boring. The stars are acting well, but the character they played are just making it way too lame. It is so hard for me just to finish a 7-episode-dorama, like several months. The ending of the dorama is quite absurd as well.

Well, in conclusion I don't want to recommend this dorama and I would just give this dorama 4 points out of 10 points.

[Japanese Movie Review] MARS ~ ただ, 君を愛してる~ / MARS ~ Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru

Just before, I write about the dorama MARS ~ Just, I love you. Now I'm going to write a little bit about the movie. This movie was also aired in 2016, and it's the continuation of the dorama.

For the dorama review, you can find it here:
MARS ~Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru dorama

Okay, the first thing I will say is I'm very impressed with this movie.
I wonder when does it start to change from a romantic, high school genre into something quite mysterious and thrilling?

If the dorama tells many thing about the male side, the movie tells us more about Asou Kira (played by Iitoyo Marie)

Unexpectedly, in this movie, it will reveal more about Kira's past. If you have watched the dorama, you must be noticing that Kira has some kind of trauma related to a man. I only could guessing in the dorama, but with this movie, it is all clear.

On the other side, Kashino Rei (played by Fujigaya Taisuke of Kis-My-Ft2) starts to change. Doesn't want to hurt his girlfriend, Kashino tries hard no to be violent anymore.

However, it's not as smooth as it seems to be. Kirishima Makio (played by Kubota Masataka) starts to reveal his true face. He, who seems to be a quiet and introvert man, is actually a psycho... It was already introduced also in the last part of the dorama.

If the dorama tells us more to a romance story, in this movie, it's more thrilling, mysterious, and psycho, even though it still has some romance in it. Before, I said the dorama is quite interesting, but with this movie I conclude that it's wonderful. I bet the viewer expect that this is a pure standard romance story at first, but actually it is not. It's just so unexpected.

I like this movie more than the dorama, however, the movie and the dorama completed each other. It's just a package you need to watch.

I gave this movie 8 out of 10 for this dorama.

[Dorama Review] Siren

Today I’m going to write a review about a mystery Japanese dorama. The title of the dorama is Siren, a beautiful yet dangerous creature in Greek mythology. It was aired in 2015.

Murder cases keep happening in Tokyo. The murderer is suspected to be a psycho since the murder is being gruesomely done.

Satomi Shinobu (played by Matsuzaka Tori) and Inokuma Yuki (played by Kimura Fumino) are a detective couple from Mobile Investigation Unit of The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department who dated secretly due to their job. Satomi and Inokuma are working together to find the truth behind these murder cases.

Strangely, a beautiful woman named Tachibana Kara (played by Nanao) often appears in the murder scene. Satomi suspected that Tachibana is behind all of these murder cases, while Inokuma considered Tachibana as a helper to the detectives. What’s the relationship between Tachibana and the murder case?

While trying to find the truth, Hayami Sho (played by Kitayama Hiromitsu of Kis-My-Ft2), Satomi and Inokuma’s rival, is also trying to find the truth to win the rivalry.

Even though you can guess some of the storyline, some of the story came out unexpectedly. This kind of unexpected story is the one which makes me interested in this dorama the most. The story of finding the murderer is also thrilling, it could make me so impatient and sometimes so scared. The way how the dorama is shot is as good as the other top Japanese doramas, as always. Not to mention, the Japanese actors and actresses are also as good as it is always be.

For those who likes thriller genre of dorama, I recommended this dorama. I gave 8 out of 10 points for this dorama.

[Japanese Movie Review] Rain Tree no Kuni / The Land of Rain Tree

Today I'm gonna give a review about a Japanese movie, called Rain Tree no Kuni / The Land of Rain Tree which was aired on 2015.

Sakisaka Nobuyuki (played by Tamamori Yuta of Kis-My-Ft2) is going to move out of his house.

He packed his things and realized that his favourite book, Fairy Game, was missing. He read the book when he was in high school, and it gave a special impression, even though he forgot the ending of the story.

He searched through the internet, and found a website named "Rain Tree no Kuni" where the admin wrote her opinion about the Fairy Game book. It reminds Nobuyuki about the ending of the book and fortunately, Nobu got the same opinion as the writer.

Moved with the writing in the website, Nobu sent a message to the admin. They sent each other message, and later, they decided to meet. It turns out the one behind "Rain Tree no Kuni" is a girl with a long hair named Hitomi Rika (played by Nishiuchi Mariya).

They interested in each other but Hitomi thought that they lived in a different world. They got into many arguments.

It's been a while since the last time I watched a dorama/movie with romance genre. It's so refreshing.

This movie is a simple movie, I think. However, many important good lessons you could get from this movie.
I personally noted to myself that I should have confidence in myself, and not to put away myself alone because I'm different from the others. Every people is unique in their own way anyway.

When I watched this movie, I smile a lot because some of the scene in the movie really happened to me before. I met a friend from the internet, we exchanged mails and somehow we got to meet with each other. Our thoughts are a little bit different from the others, but we were connected to each other. We often met in the cafe, and somehow I said "I like a quieter place" and that's how we tried to find a quiet place to talk (-__-"") Well, don't you think a quiet place is better when we are going to talk about many things?? Haha.

Ok, done with the confide. I personally think this is a good romance movie. For those who is longing to watch a romance movie, I recommend this.

I give this dorama 8 out of 10 points.

[Dorama Review] Ikemen Desu Ne!

Ikemen Desu Ne is a dorama which was aired in 2011. It’s a remake of a Korean TV drama, You’re Beautiful.

The dorama told us about a nun, Sakuraba Miko (played by Takimoto Miori) whose twin brother is going to be a singer, Sakuraba Mio. However, due to the circumstances, Sakuraba Miko must take place of her brother. Miko who pretends to be Mio, join a band named A.N. Jell which is consist of Katsuragi Ren (played by Tamamori Yuta) as the guitarist/vocalist, Fujishiro Shu (played by Fujigaya Taisuke) as the bassist, and Hongo Yuki (played by Yaotome Hikaru) as the drummer. As time goes by, Mio start to be trapped in a triangle love.

I don’t watch the Korean version, so I can’t compare both of them, but I heard from a friend that the original version is much better than this Japanese version. Well, it could be, because for me, most of the remake is worse than the original version. However, for me who doesn’t watch the original version, this dorama is quite entertaining, even though sometimes you can feel that this dorama is so dramatic, which is in reality it could never happened.
This dorama is just another Johnny’s dorama, the main male casts are all Johnny’s. It’s a dorama which makes me be a fan of Kis-My-Ft2. Their debut song, Everybody Go is the theme song for this dorama.

I recommend this dorama for those who haven’t watched the original version. For those who have watched the Korean version, it might be disappointing for you, I don’t know, but if you still want to watch it, just be prepared. After all, I gave this dorama 7 out of 10 points.
